| To
begin checking your E-mail Settings in Netscape Communicator
firstly open Communicator by double clicking the icon on your
desktop. Or go to 'Start' then 'Programs' and under 'Programs'
find 'Netscape Communicator' and start it.
Click
on the 'Edit' pull down menu and select 'Preferences...' This
will open up the Communicator 'Preferences' window
.

The
settings you will require to make Communicator work for you
are found in 'Preference' Box under 'Mail & Groups'. Go
in to 'Identity'. Fill in details as shown in example the
fields are explained below:

Your
Name: This is the name people see when they receive mail from
you.
Email Address: Your E-mail address, e.g. somebody@somecompany.com
Reply-to Address: If you are checking mail from another account,
set your reply to address to that address. Otherwise leave it
blank or have your E-mail address there.
Organization: If you are using Communicator for business, fill
your companys name in here. |

Click
on the 'Mail Server' section in 'Category': Fill in details
as shown and explained below.

Mail
server username: is your log-in name for your Connection.
Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers: are both 'mail.somecompany.com' .Mail
servers run using POP3 (or Post Office Protocol). If you are
using IMAP, you will not be able to send or receive e-mail messages.
Do NOT have the option 'Leave messages on server after retrieval'
enabled. |

Click
on 'More Options...' and enable Remember my Mail Password'.
Unless you wish to enter your 'password' each time you collect
your mail. Now Click on 'OK' and its finished.
